I am 57 & taking sublingual Triest. I had a complete hysterectomy 4 years ago. There isn't any cancer in my immediate family. I started HRT 10 years ago. How long can I safely stay on HRT. I recently tried to wean myself by cutting my dose in half but got so dry that I had a series of nose bleeds, complicated by a daily self prescribed dose of baby asprin. (no longer taking the asprin) What happens if I stay on Triest forever??

Your question indicates that you have misinformation on the difference between HRT (hormone replacement treatment) using bioidentical hormones and synthetic hormones.
You are currently taking bioidentical hormones which are the same as what your ovaries made before your hysterectomy and are completely safe in the proper doses. Premarin, Provera, birth control pills and many others are synthetic hormones and have been proven to increase your risks for heart attack, stroke and breast cancer.
