Greetings, I Am a 51 yr old with a number of gynelogical issues. I have a 23 year history of cystocele, uterine & rectal prolapse, heavy menstrual bleeding and chronically low hemoglobin & ferritin levels. I supplement with iron, only to lose any restoration monthly. Transvaginal hysterectomy & anterior/posterior repair have been offered up as only solution. Recently, a large endometrial polyp and recurrent cervical polyp were discovered on transvaginal ultrasound (following a 21 day long bleed). My monthly cycles are every 21 days (from start to start), so it appears that menopause is not likely to occur anytime soon. have you any suggestions?

I am exteremly conservative when is comes to recommending any surgical procedure. I have had 40 years of experience as a gynecologist. Your symptoms and ultrasound findings as you have described them to me force me to absolutely advise that you have the surgery as outlined by you doctor. Phillip Warner, M.D. |
