Dear Dr. Altman, I am 50.5 Years old and my last periods were in Feb 04 and again in Sept 04. Since Feb 04, I have developed chemical, food and airborn allergies. They are expecially bad during the last few days of month or the start of a new month. This leads me to suspect some hormonal influence. I am not on any hormone or bio-identical treatments. Have you heard of peri-menopausal women showing signs of allergies where none were present previously? Will this go away? Do you think bio-identical hormones would eliviate the symptoms?
