Medical Doctor Q&A's
Name: Cathy

Question:
Dr. Warner
I am a 44 year old women and believe I have been in per I for about 3 years. I have been having alot of upper abdominal pain, gas and bloating. I have a history of IBS but it has never been this bad before. Can flucuating hormones be making this condition worse? Would using progesterone cream help? Thank-you

Answer:
Your symptoms do not seem to be relataed to your perimenopausal state. They are more likely due to gallbladder or stomach dysfunction. I would advise that you see a gastroenterologist and have gallbladder and upperintestinal tests. I do not believe that progesterone cream would help the situation.
