Pharmacy Expert Q&A's
Name: coline

Question:
Can you tell me if estrial is a safe estrogen for a breast cancer survivor to take.

Answer:
It is believed that estriol may be somewhat safer than some other hormones for a couple reasons. It is considered to have weaker estrogenic activity and secondly, it does not convert to estrone. Some metabolites of estrone may play a roll in breast cancer. Was your breast cancer estrogen receptor positive? DIM is a nutritional supplement that can help with estrogen metabolism. You should talk to your doctor about what is best for your situation and I would be happy to assist you and your doctor if compounded estriol is right for you. T
