I finally found "Men Who Can't Love" and it hit home. I was with my ex for 14 months. He moved into my house about five months back and things were wonderful. Our friends and families thought we were the perfect match. My 30th b-day was approaching and he planned a big trip with friends to Vegas to celebrate. Eight days before our trip, he came into the kitchen and stated he was not as happy anymore, feeling claustrophobic, and it just didn't feel as special anymore. He moved out the next day. Since then, we have not talked. Is there anymore insight you could provide into this behavior? It just seems so easy for him, when it is killing me. I know to stay away from him, I just wish I understood more how the man could just walk away. Oh, and his timing? thank you

The timing is completely predictable. Commitmentphobes always run when the relationship is approaching a "point of no exit." This "point" may be in their minds, but it's mighty powerful.
