Medical Doctor Q&A's
Name: Sheila

Question:
I am getting my period every 10 to 14 days. I'm 46 and also getting hot flashes. Is this a sign of metapause and what can I do?

Answer:
Thr symptoms you describe are signs of perimenopause.
You need to start proper doses of bioidentical estradiol and progsterone to supplement the deficiency in production of these hormones from your own ovaries.
The progesterone is given cyclically every 2 weeks and will result in normal menstrual cycles.
The estradiol is taken daily.
You should use a doctor who is familiar with bioidentical hormones in perimenopause. If you want a personal consultation with me, call may office at 530 749 8511 for
a telephone consultation and intitiation of treatament.
