Ask Dr. Denise Lamothe Q&A's
Name: Tasha

Question:
Hello, I'm 14 year old. I weigh 230 pounds. I go to a gym called Curves. I eat right when my mom and my aunt is home. I am a emotional eater. I eat when I'm sad, mad, or just bored. I gain alot of weight over the summer last year because I was bored. My doctors told me to do skating class, or swimming class, but we don't made of the kind of money. I was hoping that you have any ideas. I have a little back ground. I'm on birth control and I been on it since I was 11. That made me gain my weight also, because I didn't weigh that much. Can you help me out?

Answer:
Hi, Tasha:
I wish I had a magic answer for you and ,of course, there aren't any. There are so many reason why we are likely to overeat at times. I do suggest you get a copy of my book, The Taming of the Chew. In there you will find insight about many of the reasons. I am hoping something will ring a bell for you. I also suggest walking. There is no cost to that. Also, depending on your schedule. One way to earn a little extra cash and get some laughs and exercise at the same time might be to be a dog walker. There is a huge need for pet owners to find people to exercise their pups. I send you my very best wishes. warmly,

Be well,
