Ask Dr. Denise Lamothe Q&A's
Name: janice

Question:
I have gained 15 pounds in the last 2 years. It seems I want to eat all the time, much like when I was about to have a period. I crave breads and sweets, nuts etc. Would hormone therapy help? I also have memory issues. Sometimes its hard to remember how to navigate on a computer. Names of people I know well won't come to me. With hormone therapy would my memory come back? And there is the mood swings and facial hair that continues to grow even after repeated waxing....

Answer:
The weight issues are connected to all the other issues you are experiencing. I suggest you seek the counsel of a good Naturopath or Homeopathic physicianj. There are amny ways to deal with hormonal upsets as we age. Talk with your medical doctor and see what s/he suggests. Regardin your cravings and weight, please do read The Taming of the Chew for a holistic look at the issue. I also blog weekly at www.chewtamers.blogspot.com and you can get free tips there every week. My best wishes!
