Researchers are still working towards understanding the relationship between anxiety and perimenopause.

This relationship is not just with perimenopause, many women with an anxiety disorder feel a heightened sense of anxiety a few days before they menstruate.

This doesn't mean that we need to suffer as a result of this. Learning to understand our anxiety and learning to control it, rather than it controlling us, is most important.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is the most effective therapy in the long term for anxiety disorders.
