Relationship Expert Q&A's
Name: lf

Question:
Jaycee,

Last year I was deeply hurt by a man who did something pretty outrageous, which had the same flavor of what you mentioned (find my old postings if you wish on 1/1/07). Here's an example. He actually said, "There isn't going to be a romance," as he was kissing me. When I tried to point out that we seemed to be presently involved in a romance, he denied it, and kissed me more. It was really confusing and hurtful. I'm still healing, and I can say that NO CONTACT is an absolute must. Also, remember it isn't you. It's THEIR problem. I really beat myself up trying to figure out why I had been rejected so cruelly. Of course, I'd done nothing wrong, except I failed to hear the negative side of the mixed messages.

Answer:
Absolutely true.
Still, let's point out to the readers that if you continually fail to hear the negative side of the mixed message it is really important to examine that part of yourself.
Thanks for writing!
