Medical Doctor Q&A's
Name: Heather

Question:
I've just been diagnosed with PCOS by my OBGYN and because I haven't had a menstrual cycle in eight months, she's prescribed Provera. After reviewing all the potential side effects, I'm not very thrilled with the idea. Though I'm 29, I've only been married a year and we aren't ready for kids yet. Is there a birth control pill that you would recommend for someone with PCOS? Is there an alternative to Provera? Thanks!

Answer:
I would recommend the birth control pill Yasmin or another
one closely related called Yaz. These pills will help the
PCOS and provide birth control.
