Medical Doctor Q&A's
Name: Janice

Question:
I've been using estriol cream (.5 Gm 3X week), which my gyne prescribed about 1 month ago for vaginal dryness. That's in addition to the Prometrium (100 mg) and Estradiol (1 mg) which I have been taking orally (daily) for almost a year for night sweats, etc. I just started noticing some bloating and swelling of my abdomen within the past couple weeks. Could that be from the extra estrogen I'm getting from the estriol cream? If so, do you have any recommendations? ( I am 52-1/2 and have had no periods since I went from bc pills to HRT 2 years ago.)

Answer:
The bloating and swelling of your abdomen has nothing to do with the estriol cream. I would strongly advise that you make an appointment with your family doctor for a complete examination including a CT scan of your abdomen and pelvis.
