Anxiety-Panic Expert Q&A's
Name: Terry

Question:
my son who is 20 years old was on 30mg of Lexapro for about 4 months. He went to 20 mg for a month and then after 10 mg for a week he stopped. He is experiencing tingling in lips, muscle aches, dizziness and most of all he is extremely irritable and angry (he was always irritable thats why he went on the drug, but not like this), having temper tantrums, screaming and yelling. How long will it take to go away?

Answer:
He should be over the worst of it within a week or two of stopping the drug. You need to be alert for possible onset of withdrawal mania or withdrawal suicidality during this time period. This needs to be carefully monitored.
