How do I make the transition from Premarin to natural HRT? How long should I wait after ending the Premarin before taking saliva or blood test? Thanks. joanemm@verizon.net

You do not have to wait after ending Premarin before taking saliva or blood tests for hormonal levels. The key thing is to make sure anyone who helps manage your therapy (ie. pharmacist, physician, nurse practitioner, etc.)is aware of any hormone therapy you were using prior to the test. That way they know how to assess your levels versus someone who has not been on any hormone therapy. Also, saliva test forms usually have a place to fill out the names and dosage of any hormones you are currently taking. The transtion from taking Premarin to natural HRT is very easy. You can start the hormone therapy immediately following Premarin.
