Anxiety-Panic Expert Q&A's
Name: Veronica

Question:
Hello, Thanks. For your program, it has been very informative for me. I have been having panic attacks since I've started menopause,(I have completed a year without menses) and I'd like to know what to do to control them so that I can go to work without worrying about getting this awful feeling around the co-workers. I'm on Combipatch, but it's not doing as well as it was when I started last June. I would like to know if I can take Remifemin and red clover together, or Promensil. I would like to stop using the patch, but I'm worried about the rushes to my head and the dizziness I get with it sometimes. I don't perspire at all, but I think I get "rushes" to my head instead of "hot flashes" and feel like I am about to faint. Thanks in advance for your reply. Veronica

Answer:
Hi Veronica

I am not able to assist you in regards to your medication. I always prefer that people speak with their doctors about this as some medications cannot be used inconjunction with other medications.

From the description of your symptoms, I am wondering if perhaps you may be experiencing some of the dissociative symptoms that can happen with some panic attacks. The 'rushes' to the head and the dizziness can be part of dissociation. For a more detailed description of this you can visit our web page

You may wish to consider seeing a cognitive behavioural therapist (CBT). CBT is the most effective therapy in the long term for anxiety disorders.

You can read about this on our web site
