Dear Pete, I am 43 years old. My periods were not coming regularly. So, now my Dr. Has me taking prometrium 200mg every 6 weeks to induce a period. He took my estrogen levels and it is still in the normal to normal low range. I hate having to take anything but I have young children and feel that this will make me feel better and look better. That is important. I also had one ovary removed due to a large cyst. Every now and then I do experience hot flashes, and it anyways is around the time I am suppose to take my prometrium. He has me on the prometrium for 10 days. He said I should experience a period within 14 days, but sometime it comes later then that. Sorry I'm rambling but wonder if you think this sound right and if this regimin is safe. Thankyou, Laura

Dear Laura:
The Regimine is safe to use, but I do believe you need a low dose of natural bioidentical estrogen (Biest) to go along with it. Then I would use the progesterone as 100mg. Sublingually (dissolves under the tongue) two times a day, every 12 hours for 13 or 14 days once every month. This way you would feel better, probably resolve the hot flashes and whatever else you may be experiencing before you feel worse; this would have you looking and feeling even younger and in a safe way.
