Question: | |
I am 62, post menopausal and have been diagnsed with vaginal atrophy. I have burning, soreness all around vagina and bladder area. Also intense hot flashes. I am currently receiving accupuncture treatments but no results yet (4 treatments). What do you think of accupuncture? Is there anything I can buy without a prescription that will alleviate this problem? Thank you.

Dear Betsy:
Accupuncture may work, time will tell; it can't hurt anything, I do know that. We have a product called Zestra, and you can review all about it on our website, hit the letter "Z" in the alphabet. It is only a lubricant, and recommended by many doctors, I am not sure how well it will work for actual atrophy though? My recommendation would be to use our famous Estriol/Testosterone vaginal cream, but it does require a prescription from your doctor. I will tell you the strengths of each ingredient and how to use it, if you decide to try it. Call me on weekdays between 1:00PM and 6:00 PM CST at 1-800-728-0288, and we can talk about it. I am only working afternoons right now, since I am recovering from major back surgery for another week or two. My name is Pete Hueseman. I do know the RX item can help solve the problem quite well. When you call me, please mention your email through power surge and my answer. Thanks, Information provided by Pete Hueseman, R.Ph, PD, and the Bellevue Pharmacy Solutions staff of pharmacists is not intended as a substitute for a visit to and examination by your own personal health care practitioner. |
