Q: my daughter is 10 1/2 years old. She was just at the er and they saw on a ct scan that she has small ovarian cysts on her right ovary. According to the er doctor they were not twisted and they should go away and they are normal in woman. My daughter did not get her period yet but she is developing and was spotting back in oct and nov.

what should I do? is it serious, it has been 2 days and it still hurts they are small but I don't want them to rupture or get twisted. Thank you

A: If the pain is due to the cysts then it will subside over several days. A ruptured cyst is not serious. Twisting? remote chance that this will occur. At her age I would do nothing. If her symptoms continue then have her see her Pediatrician.

Sincerely,

Sincerely,
